Daring to go dark on the lipstick front, over on Cup of Jo.

Dark-Red-Lipstick

As I’ve shared before, I have a bit of a garland obsession. Chock it up to my Waldorf childhood or just to the fact that I love flowers. Design*Sponge shared a gorgeous wintry floral head wreath from The Ladies of Forêt that I’m aching to replicate.

Garlands

These gorgeous images from photographer Hannah Davis‘ journey blog, Drift, blew me away (via Miss Moss).

More radness from Miss Moss: 2013 calendars. I have yet to invest in a new one (last year I went for a Nikki McClure, and I might just do it again because her work is so darn cool), but these two from spreadthelove and prismaticprintshop, respectively, are right up my alley.

Who runs the world? Girls. GIRLS!  Say what you will about the new HBO show GIRLS (and for the record I agree, though you should listen to Lena Dunham on Fresh Air), it makes me LOL a lot.  And Sunday’s season finale was no exception.

You know whose work I love?  This woman’s.  I’ve posted her before and I’ll post her again.  Ulrika Kestere = genius.  And her hair is amazing.

Anne Benjamin is one talented lady and I very much like her illustrations. (via Design Work Life)

Tsto, a Finnish design group, is GREAT! (via Blog Milk)

This lady knows how to mix her stuff!  Mmm mmm good.

Discovered Broad City this week (thank you Design*Sponge!) and dang are these ladies fine!  A post featuring my favorite episodes will no doubt make an appearance soon.  Want to laugh immediately?  Watch this video and check out this picture.

I submitted Elize Strydom‘s photograph of a classy lady on her bike to Bikes + Babes (the awesome sauce–that’s for you Meg–collaboration Tumblr from Erin of Calivintage and Rebecca of The Clothes Horse) and it was picked up!  Woohoo!  Fun fact: Elize’s partner is in Boy & Bear, my new favorite band.  They are amazing.  Just another reason to go to Australia!

Jenny Morgan‘s paintings are beautiful, haunting, and fierce. (via We Are Selectors)

The new Terrain store in Westport, CT looks b-e-a-utiful!  My college graduation dinner last year was spent at the Terrain at Styer’s Garden Café in Glenn Mills, PA.  It was one of the most beautiful dining experiences I’ve ever had. Which reminds me, I would love to go back before I leave the East Coast.  Kelly, you down?  (via Andrew+Carissa)

Alice Ferrow‘s illustrations are dynamite. See more of them over on her Tumblr. (via Brown Paper Bag)

I absolutely love Dabito’s photography. Check out his blog for interior design inspiration and more lovely images. (via Old Brand New)

Step back and admire these cross stitched pieces by Evelin Kasikov (via Stylesight).

Maurice Sendak, beloved author of Where the Wild Things Are, passed away last week.  If you live near my neck of the woods, make sure to stop by the Rosenbach Museum & Library to see the Sendak collection housed there.  Also, if you haven’t yet watched it, check out Stephen Colbert’s interview with Sendak from back in January.  Here are parts one and two (via Colossal).  Simply fabulous.

These kick-a$$ National Park stamps by Valerie Jar (check out her blog Carnival for awesome sauce design inspiration!) for the new National Parks iPhone app by National Geographic (app design credits go to Rally Interactive) (via Design Work Life).  Long long ago I had “Jr. Ranger” pins from six of the parks listed below.  I want to collect them all!

Femke Agema‘s SS12 collection.  Crazy cakes or awesome sauce?  Maybe a bit of both! (via We Are Selecters)

I love these two images from Natalie Off Duty.  Definitely how I feel right now: sleepy and in need of a good stretch.

Jonathan Ogden‘s album art is so dang up my alley.  Recently, I’ve been really interested in covers, no doubt because of my own album design shizz (i.e. my monthly mixes).  (via Breanna Rose)

Ben Giles, you are a collage king! Definitely definitely check out more of his work!  Flower power!  (via Justina Blakeney)

Tim Coulson‘s done it again!  I just love to pieces this man’s wedding and family photography.  See more of the photos from Harriet and Mat’s wedding here.

The kick-a$$ ladies behind Domestic Construction (via GAGC).

These beautiful gouache paintings by Naomi Wilkinson (via Brown Paper Bag).

A nifty mail basket tutorial from Design*Sponge (I think this would also make an eggselent–and fancy–paper towel holder).

Some rockin’ Paris vs. New York prints that I hadn’t yet seen (via Jackie Magpie).

The rad work-style anthology Industry of One (via Underdressed & Overwhelmed). I just love Grace‘s Frida foot tattoos!

Ulrika Kestere‘s fabulous bachelor project titled Puzzled S(h)elf.

Filly Designs clothing by Santa Cruz native Emily Christensen, a law school dropout turned designer.  Read her inspiring bio here.  Em’s blog is really great too!

“Life is Beautiful” (2009) by Iranian artist Farhad Moshiri.  Kitchen knife typography at its finest!

The kick-a$$ styles from No. 6 are making me swoon.  Especially their skirts and clogs!

Teeny tiny food has never looked so good! “Tel Aviv-based artist Shay Aaron constructs incredible miniaturized food sculptures at 1:12 scale.”  Check out more photos on Flickr and view Shay’s extensive mini food jewelry collection on Etsy.  These fried egg studs are right up my alley.

The kids from the Very French Gangsters eyewear ad campaign are just too cute.  I’d like her Very Pan Pan frames in an adult size, please.

Have you ever wanted to make a sock monkey or a sock fox?  Now’s your chance with this DIY tutorial over on A Beautiful Mess!

A natural egg coloring (onion skins people!) tutorial from Ulrika Kestere over on Ulicam.  I love her use of feathers and flowers and am certainly inspired to make some of my own!

The Mes Dames spring 2012 lookbook is gorgeous and not just because of the clothes!  I love the vintage quality of the shots and the beautiful leafy garden in which the models are set.

I learned about Dawn Tan not too long ago and was reintroduced to her work this week.  Her watercolor food illustrations make my stomach rumble!

These paper flowers by Frances & Francis are so elegant!

Speaking of flowers, learn how to make your own fabric peonies with this nifty tutorial over on Creature Comforts.

These clothes from Leitmotiv may look a little crazy but are also super cool!  I dig the graphic craziness!  See more of the A/W 2013 collection over on We Are Selectors.

I want to jump right into this bed painted by Swedish artist Carl Larsson.  See more of his work over at Apartment Therapy.

As you may know, I’m a huge house porn fan and this kitchen/dining room is making me go bananas!  First off, that table with benches is my dream table with benches!  Second, what a lovely idea to have a huge leafy branch situated on your mantel.  I think my Mom would like this.  See more of this house over at Keke and learn how to make what looks like a scrumdidliumptious meaty paella (that serves 20+!!)!
