DANIELLE NELSON MOURNING
I recently stumbled upon (I know I say this quite often but it’s true) Danielle Nelson Mourning‘s photography and had to share it with you all! Her images are so simple, dark, and powerful. And she lives and works in San Francisco. (All connections to the Bay are immediately broadcasted to the world here on KU.) Is it just me or do you also love that the woman in the third photograph featured here appears to be barefoot. I love being barefoot. I am so happy that the weather is ridiculously gorgeous right now because it means I can finally expose my toes to the elements. They are wiggling with joy!

Earthing–that’s a word that is coined for getting naked feet in contact with the earth. You are actually grounding yourself and protecting yourself from voltages, when touching skin to the bare earth. Maybe you have already googled “earthing.” I got so fascinated that I got the half sheet for my bed and the grounding mat–so I could bring my grounding in the house and cut down on the voltage load.
It’s the same thing that is done by grounding a house by having a grounding rod. Just FYI stuff.
Yes, I love that picture showing how natural it is and healthy to be connected literally to the earth mass. Very appealing picture to my senses–feel related to it.
Agreed. There’s something about being barefoot that really grounds your person, even when you’re not touching the earth (though that’s preferable, I guess). I find that standing barefoot just brings my body into alignment!
