I’d love to read your musings about life’s little and BIG adventures.
Ursula le Guin is an awesome writer. It’s been awhile but I read several of her books.
“Left Hand of Darkness” is a good one. I’ve not read A Wizard of Earthsea.
Hey Hun!
Thanks for creating a blog so I can spy on you – how thoughtful! ha ha. Speaking of brewer’s yeast on popcorn, I can’t remember if I invented my hippie kettlecorn before or after you left….just in case it was after, the secret ingredient is melt honey and butter together and pour it over the popcorn and then add the yeast. mmmmm…..
That sounds delicious!!! I will have to make some hippie kettlecorn soon!

Hi, Kylin,
As you may remember, I am part of the Santa Cruz Friends Meeting, and I have been a part of your life, off and on, for many years. I was delighted to learn that you have now created a blog (!), and I look forward to reading more about your adventures! Thanks for sharing them with us, and for offering me and others more “threads” (musings, words, and images) to add to our personal understandings, and views of life.
For me this sharing started when I saw the image of you standing in the DeYoung Museum tower, looking out over the city. That “Kylin Untitled” image has already inspired me to find a way to stand in that place again myself, admiring that view, and sharing it with you.
you made me such an awesome playlist I was just left yearning for more of ye! so I creepily googled you and found this to my heart’s delight. and I am honoured that your goodbye summer includes moi! Warm fuzzies
with love and hugs from the land of eh,
Rachel
Just listened to Erato. And just subscribed to “you!”
How I loved that trio as I love to sing in just this way, in just such harmonies, so I watched several renditions of this after the first one you showed here.
I recently reread the letters I have from Opa’s grandfather–so let’s see my great grandfather and your great, great grandfather. My father never knew him. His name was George Washington Crutcher and he was mayor of East Dallas 1882 to 1890. East Dallas was a very fine large part of Dallas that Dallas wanted to call its own. GW Crutcher was responsible for building schools and hospitals and the finest roads. The roads were so fine and broad that people from Dallas proper would bring their horse and buggies and “speed.” They had to set a speedlimit of 18 mph to address this “problem.” Anyway, I have two fine letters that he wrote. One are his musings on his seventieth birthday that he wrote to his daughter, Lura. (At the age he was in the letter he was running an insurance company with Thomas Wallace Crutcher, Sr., his son, Opa’s father whom he never really knew well). GW was lauding his daughter’s beautiful voice. I remember the first time I read that and saw what a love of music came down through our genes.
It would be fine to have Raven, you, me, your mom, create something fun and record it.
Well, my love to you and I will return to reading more of your blog. Don signaled me that I should make sure to check it out and not miss the Erato piece.
Love to the piece of me in you that is enjoying life in Philadelphia! We’re all inseparable, but what fun to be aunt and niece and all. Love, Aunt Kiri
I'm Kylin! Welcome to my public journal where I record my musings about life's little adventures and share images and words that I find inspiring. When not blogging & jobbing, you can find me on the couch watching Say Yes to the Dress with my roomie, Kelly, eating copious amounts of yeasty popcorn. Please sit and stay awhile! Read más...
So glad you showed me how to subscribe as OF COURSE I want “read all about it” as the old newspaper boy used to say!
I’m looking forward to keeping up with your musings. I love you.
looking forward to keeping up with your thoughts, Kylin!
Haven’t been getting e-mail updates about your blog, but just subscribed again so hoping for better luck this time! Mutti

Left Hand of Darkness is next on my list after I finish the Earthsea quartet!
